The arcadians
The Arcadians (2016) is a tribute to growing up in old school video game arcades, co-designed with Jackson Tegu. We originally started it as part of Game Chef 2016 but finished it up for Golden Cobra 2016 instead.
The premise of the game is that some non-local players broadcast themselves by videochat into the live-action (larp) space and, from the other side of the computer screen, physically portray the arcade cabinets that the on-site players interact with.
More than that, though, the game is also about youth, nostalgia, and how much things grow and change over time, making it both silly fun and also meditative and thoughtful (at least, we hope so).
